Lessons (not?) Learned

The horrors of the Atlanta courthouse shootings were put in sharp focus by the media, and justifiably so. I think most reasonable people would agree that the pathetic security negligences which enabled the prisoner to acquire weapons and flee were abominable. So, it defies understanding (on my part) that once he was recaptured, the news photos showed a frail blonde WOMAN leading him away. Apparently, they wanted to give him another chance at freedom.

The Hannibal Lechter character was restrained in a manner more consistent with a dangerous, violent felon than most dangerous violent felons are in real life. We are told that this is to prevent prejudicial- attitude development on the part of potential jury members. I think a more sensible attitude would be that a person with a violent history might well be capable of and planning FURTHER VIOLENCE! Ergo, he should be handled as if this was the case until judge and jury determine that he is innocent.

Had this been the prevailing demeanor, the judge, court stenographer, deputy and possibly two other folks would, likely be planting and enjoying their spring flowers, instead of fertilizing them.

Damn the liberal mentality that is poisoning, weakening and lying to our society!!
